How much freedom do we really have when imagining believable economic systems?

So it seems we will be running a few sessions during COP28 on the invitation of the UNFCCC secretariat.

We will also be speaking at an event organized by Agence Française de Développement. It’ll be weaving together our own work at ClimateGains, and the results of a thing we did for them and Forum on Foresight for Sustainable Finance, OECD, the Finance Common Coalition.

The common theme: Exploration of alternative economic systems, and mechanisms for climate finance.

You know, because our current one is fundamentally broken. And there are alternatives. Some already exist. Some will require us to use that human capacity for thinking and building new.

Ahead of our participation in COP28, I believe everyone should read this well-timed post from one of the people whose thinking has very much influenced ClimateGains: How much freedom do we really have when imagining believable economic systems?
